What is Proteinuria

The loss of the Protein in the blood is called Proteinuria; in this condition protein, starts to cut off through the urine in a considerable amount. Protein loss is a signal of kidney damage. Proteinuria is the first symptom patients get to see when kidneys start damaging.

Healthy kidneys will only allow fluid and small molecules into the urine with the help of a nephron, but in impaired kidneys, nephrons become unable to filter the Protein inside the body; the Protein gets excreted through urine. Having Protein in urine can sign nephrotic syndrome or a warning sign of kidney disease. Proteins have much important work in your body, such as helping to build your bones and muscles, preventing infection, and controlling the amount of fluid in your blood.

Causes of Proteinuria

1. Dehydration

When your body loses too much fluid from the body, it causes dehydration. As we all know, water helps to deliver nutrients, like proteins and many other essential nutrients, to the kidney, but without sufficient water, it can be complex functioning of blood. In turn, the kidneys can’t correctly recapture proteins. The Protein ends up in the urine instead.

2. High Blood Pressure

High blood pressure is the leading cause of protein loss because of increased blood pressure, the membrane of the kidney can’t handle the pressure, and then a vast amount of Protein starts realizing through urine.

3. Diabetes mellitus

Diabetes damages the membrane of the cell of the kidney. It affects kidney function because of damage of kidney function, a tremendous amount of Protein comes out through urine.

4. IgA Nephropathy

In IgA Nephropathy, immunoglobulin builds up in the body and causes inflammation in kidney tissues; it also affects the function of the kidney, and a vast amount of protein filters and comes out through urine.

5. Polycystic diseases

In polycystic disease, the server growth of cysts develops on the surface of the kidney, affecting the membrane of the kidney’s cells. The formation of cysts in polycystic kidney disease causes Proteinuria.

Symptoms

1. Weakness

Continues loss of Protein makes patients weak day by day. For patients, Protein is critical to keep them healthy and active.

2. Foamy urine

Foamy or dark-colure urine shows that a large amount of Protein comes out due to kidney failure. The Protein in your urine reacts with the air to create foam.

3. Frequency in urination

Peeing 6–8 times every 24 hours usually is more than that – including peeing a lot at night (more than once) – and you may have frequent urination. Frequent urination can be just as inconvenient to your day-to-day life.

4. Nausea and vomiting

Improper functioning of organs may cause vomiting and nausea.

5. Loss of appetite

Patients may feel a lack of appetite because of not having a sufficient amount of protein in the body.

6. Puffiness around the eyes

Patients with kidney failure get to see puffiness around the eyes, especially in the morning. The collection of waste material may cause inflammation in these areas.

Ways to Control

Working on the cause can prevent loss of Protein in urine.

1. Protein-free diet

A kidney patient’s diet should consist of 15-20% protein if they have Proteinuria. Patients with high creatinine levels are advised to restrict protein intake. Moong ki daal is the only Protein that is recommended to kidney patients.

2. One-cup fruit

One cup of fruit (any) in the diet is a sufficient amount for the kidney. If your serum bicarbonate level is average, then you can take any fruit. If not, doctors suggest to their patients to avoid every acidic fruit.

3. Control high blood pressure

Patients with kidney failure need to control their high blood pressure anyhow because if these common causes can damage your kidneys, you can also fix your kidneys by improving these causes. In Ayurveda Kidney treatment, we first treat the cause, and then we cure the disease step by step.

4. Control diabetes

As we already know, high sugar level affects the membrane of the kidney’s cells that cause kidney damage. In Ayurveda kidney treatment, we treat the cause first, and then, step by step, we cure the disease.

5. Regular yoga

Regular yoga and breathing exercise helps to reduce your high blood pressure because high blood pressure damages the membrane of cells, and impaired cells of the kidney can’t work precisely.

6. Weight losses

Due to the high amount of protein release from urine, the patient becomes weak and decreases.

 7. Drink sufficient water

For every doctor, it is impossible to calculate that how much water a patient should drink. The amount of water needed varies from patient to patient. God gives us a tongue mouth as a sensor to check that we need water now. So when you feel dryness in your mouth, take a sip of water and drink a lot of water at a time.
