Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD)
We know that kidneys are one of the most important organs in our body – it filters blood and waste. If some damage occurs in the kidney/s, waste keeps building up in the body, which would then attack other body organs. It is extremely hard to diagnose CKD because it acts slow and comes out at the final stage. Smoke, alcohol, unhealthy lifestyle and/or family history with kidney diseases can be major causes for it. Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD)
This disease can only be inherited and not spread – small groups of cysts appear in the kidneys. It cannot be feared as cancer but contain water-like fluids and can grow to large sizes, which then leads to kidney failure. Common symptoms are back/side pain, high blood pressure and swollen abdomen. The most important thing you could do is consult a doctor and get help to manage the symptoms. Controlling blood pressure, cyst removal and medication are amongst the treatments along with the dialysis that has been giving out great results. As symptoms show up, it’s time to get the treatment.
Acute Kidney Disease (AKD)
As you know from earlier, kidneys filter waste and takes out the excess fluid from the blood. Acute Kidney Disease is one such problem where all of a sudden, the kidneys stop to separate waste from blood. It doesn’t take much time for the disease to show up – due to its abrupt nature, it can happen over a few days or a few hours. Less urine output, nausea, fatigue, swelling, and shortness of breath are a few symptoms for AKD (sometimes the symptoms don’t even appear). IgA Nephropathy
It is difficult to accept but this disease can be fatal in the end stages. It occurs only when the immunoglobulin A antibody builds up in the kidneys and leads to inflammation (local) and may even lead to complete kidney failure. It is slowly excelling disease and may not be diagnosed in the beginning. Symptoms can be changed color of the urine, foamy urine, back and side pain, swelling in your feet and hands, and high blood pressure. Yes, it can be fatal but with the great healing powers of Ayurveda, and dialysis treatment, recovery is possible.
