The duration of Ayurvedic medicines for kidney failure depends on the stage of kidney disease. However, SRIAAS- SR Institute of Advanced Ayurvedic Sciences has classified initial programs for kidney patients into two durations:

  • Program One: It is for the patients that are NOT on dialysis. It will take three months course to maintain healthy electrolyte levels and stabilized creatinine & urea levels. The results will start to appear within the first 15 days of the treatment; the patient will begin to experience that he/she is free from the symptoms that were increasing the pain and complications. Next month, a patient will observe changes in the reports with modified creatinine & urea levels.
  • Program Two: It is for the patients that are on dialysis. When a patient is on dialysis, the kidneys still have the functioning capacity left, and that is what SRIAAS- SR Institute of Advanced Ayurvedic Sciences focuses on reviving the functioning. We will provide a patient with a diet chart and ayurvedic medicines for kidney failure that may end up the dialysis days and reduce high creatinine levels naturally.

When renal functioning is not working the way it should, the kidneys get affected severely. It reaches different stages that are characterized by renal functioning capacity. Following are the different stages of kidney diseases:

  • Stage 1: The symptoms of kidney diseases may or may not be prominent at this stage. The initial symptoms would look like mild cough & flu with or without protein traces in the urine. At this stage, the GFR (Glomeruli Filtration Rate) level would be greater than or 90 ml./min.
  • Stage 2: The symptoms at this stage may start to show as weakness & foamy urine. The GFR at this stage would be between 90 and 80 ml/min.
  • Stage 3: This stage of kidney disease or kidney failure is divided into Stage 3A and Stage 3B. At stage 3A, the GFR would be between 45 and 59 ml/min. At stage 3B, the GFR would be between 30 and 44 ml/min.
  • Stage 4: By this stage, the symptoms of kidney diseases would be fatigue, high blood pressure, foamy and smelly urine, dark-colored urine, and breathlessness. At this stage, the GFR would be between 15 and 29 ml/min.
  • Stage 5: The last stage of kidney failure or renal failure, a patient may or may not be asked to follow the dialysis protocol. The GFR level will drop lower than 15 ml/min.

Kidney disease is a non-curable disease; it can only be managed and maintained with healthy electrolyte levels. Following are the causes of kidney disease:

  • Diabetes
  • High Blood Pressure
  • Congenital kidney diseases (for example, nephrotic syndrome, IgA nephropathy, etc.)
  • Glomerulonephritis
  • Pyelonephritis
  • Obesity

Ayurveda is an ancient healing system that had its roots in India and the Southern-Asian subcontinent. It is a process of increasing the natural capacity of kidneys’ functioning instead of depending on machinery that eventually ends with renal replacement therapy.

Kidney Disease is a progressive disease that affects renal functioning first and shows the symptoms of kidney disease later. Following are the common symptoms of kidney diseases:

  • Fatigue
  • Chest pain
  • Dry & itchy skin
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Anemia

The diet of kidney patient on dialysis is different from the kidney patient who is not on dialysis. Patients on dialysis are asked to have more amounts of protein than the patients who aren’t. Dialysis is an artificial process of kidney functioning that doesn’t filter the blood as kidneys do. The diet of kidney patients on dialysis is designed to fulfill all the requirements of sodium, phosphorus, protein, potassium, and other nutrients in the body. There is no fixed diet plan for kidney patients in Ayurvedic medication as it is all personalized.

Kidney Diseases can be managed and maintained with healthy electrolyte levels and stable creatinine & urea levels. Anyone claiming it to be that kidney diseases can be cured with some specific treatment is nothing but a bogus statement.

Yes, Ayurveda is potent enough to stop dialysis naturally. Ayurvedic medicines for kidney diseases improve the renal system’s natural functioning capacity that leads to a boost in the management of electrolyte levels, and reduces high creatinine levels.
